When I got married I had no idea at the time that my married name Zucchero meant sugar in Italian. I spend my career telling people to avoid sugar, so I couldn’t get over the irony. As much as I avoid sugar, there is one thing that it can be good for, and that’s a nice exfoliating body scrub.
If you are cleaning out your pantry and wanting to get rid of that refined white sugar (which I assume you are), use it for a body scrub. Combined with the scent of essential oils, it is perfect for wiping out dead skin cells, boosting circulation, and lymphatic drainage.
Ingredients:
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup olive oil (or you can use coconut oil)
- Your favorite essential oil (I use Inspire blend from Nature’s Sunshine)
Mix all ingredients together in a bowl. Put a small amount on your body at a time and lightly scrub. Remove with a warm washcloth, or for best results rinse off in the shower.
